Another up for sale......be strong.....(...sniffle...)
Discussion
Well after 2 and a half years of glorious hassle free ownership I have realised I just don't get the 'correct' use out of the TIV.
Combination of future travel plans, upcoming big commute and the girlfriend wanting a convertible (she won't drive TVR so we now have an S1 Elise) means it makes sense for it to go.
Have just spend the last few weeks sorting all the 'niggles' that I never previously got round to and I'm really annoyed I didn't do them previously as the car is looking great...so good that I'm struggling a bit to sell!
If anyone if after the cheapest post 2005 TVR Power rebuilt in the classifieds let me know!
I came to TVR ownership nervous that it would bankrupt me (but still did it) - very pleased to report that I will be leaving TVR ownership having had a very positive experience and will return again - I'm especially excited for the future of the engines for these cars - loving the options you have now (did not have them when I originally bought)

So sorry to see you go, it has been a pleasure reading your posts, best of luck in the future. Combination of future travel plans, upcoming big commute and the girlfriend wanting a convertible (she won't drive TVR so we now have an S1 Elise) means it makes sense for it to go.

PS, You will be back,

Understand the bit about sorting out the niggles and wondering why you didnt sort them out earlier so that you enjoyed the benefits.
I get 30mpg out of my Tuscan and used to get high 20's out of my Chimaera.
Certainly not that much worse than some of my commute cars of the past.
Good luck, its a tough position your in.

You can't beat 50mpg out of an 118bhp elise though.I get 30mpg out of my Tuscan and used to get high 20's out of my Chimaera.

I never get 30mpg out of my Tuscan!!
How do you drive?

constant 80mph(130km/h). Just did Spain again with the same results including some fun driving.
Used to get 37mpg out of my Vauxhaul Senator on the same runs. (most I ever got from any car except rentals).
Ian at Torque RVT has set me up a little lean for the Spain trip so will be reducing it shortly.
TVR now sold - currently in France with my Elise which is causing me more hassle than my Tuscan ever did!!
Car gone to someone who seems an enthusiast and will no doubt make himself known on here at some stage.
Advice for sellers out there is 'hang in there', I went through really peaks and troughs on interest and am confident I could have eventually sold it several times over.
Interestingly Tuscans seem to fetch a decent price on Fleabay - although I'm always wary that until you have the money in your hand you cannot trust the final bid price.
It was autotrader that actually got me the most interest in the end!
I will be back in a few years when I get fed up of crawling in and out of an elise!

Rest assured ben, she's gone to a good home and has treated me really well in the 500 odd miles so far!
Here's what I've learnt so far in my two weekends of ownership:
I knew TVRs were rare but didn't realize quite how rare. I used to love the "Elise wave" when another went past but I haven't even seen another tiv on the road these last two weeks.
Speed 6 paranoia should be a medical condition.
I thought I was a pretty good driver but there are some cars that require way more skill than I possess. This is one of those cars.
Tunnels are an incredible invention. Every road should be a tunnel.
No matter what you drive, old ladies are still the biggest pavement spectators... Followed by teenagers.
Safe to say I'm a complete convert to TVRs. It's completely blown me away.
Hope the Elise treats you well! I'll keep you posted...
