Hi all i have a mk1 red rose and have just perchased this...

Does anyone now if i need anything else to fit this to car which has no spoiler as standard?

Yes, a front splitter kit too! Otherwise the already light front end at speed will be even worse!

This is a front splitter. The clue is in the ad which is headed "Black TVR Tuscan S fibreglass front splitter".

Not sure how fitting it will make the front end lighter It'll be a little more stable right up to the point where it is ripped off by the airflow, taking some of the bodywork with it unless you use a 't' piece.

If one didn't come with it you will need to get one made up from square section steel. You could faff around working it out but I'd try TVR Power. The front splitter alone makes a huge difference, some say a rear spoiler makes a bit more.

The splitter and spoiler reduce aerodynamic lift at each end of the car by producing downforce. Fitting a rear spoiler only will cause the front end to lift more as the back only is being pushed down (at speed of course), making the front end feel light (not physically reducing it's mass though!!!!) and unstable as there is natural lift at the front (without a splitter) and Downforce at the back........like a seesaw with a fat kid at one end.

But, if like in the ad, he fits only the front splitter, he will reduce lift at the front, thus making the front end more stable at high speeds

dave is right
fitting the front splitter without the bracket will fix the spoiler in a wrong angle
with the result that on high speed the car will be pushed up instead of down
had the same thing with the corner winglets
and had to make some brackets of my own

Dave. Thanks for the aerodynamics brief. I'm quite familiar with the subject but it's always nice to be reminded. The point here though is:

Is.

A.

Front.

Splitter.

Not a rear one. So he doesn't need a(nother) front kit.

Easy tiger, the link to the add didn't initially work so assumed the "spoiler" reference was in relation to a rear spoiler and not a front "splitter". Silly mistake to make I know, but that'll learn me for not going back and checking links!

Anyway, as others have said you'll need the splitter T-bar bracket, and to mount it so that its angle is as close to horizontal as possible.
