New Discs

Does anybody know what the front discs (not pads) are from for a 2006 Tuscan convert s, I am experiencing a wobble (like ABS is kicking in, i know i dont have ABS) when breaking so expect a warped disc, or does anybody know what else to look for. I had new tyres fitted and this seems to have happened straight after.???????

Could be wheel balance out - when braking the car is leaning on the fronts more and this shows up more. they seem to be quite sensitive to wheel balance. J

take your rears and put them on the front and see if it still does it - if it stops then you knw it is the wheel balance

i thought the rear wheels were different from the front (offset or something)

Right, i have checked the nuts, had the wheels balanced, and it is still doing it, they told me at the garage it is down to the Vredestein tyres not being left and right pattens, (both pattens face the same way)..Don't sound right to me.

Sound like they didn't balance the wheels properly when they fitted the new tyres.

Hope they kept the newly fitted wheel spacers in place...

Balancing done 3 times now and still happening, i will take it to TVR BARNET to ask the boys there what it is...Will keep you informed.New spacers have made a big improvment

I have Sessanta Vredstiens and dont have wheel wobble. However if one of your wheels is buckled the change of tyres may have emphasised the effect it can have especially if the garage are numpties with the balance machine -which it sounds like they are. You need to find a decent tyre garage, unfortunately lots of lasers and gadgets do not mean the techs are any good as I found with a recent alignment check/attempted adjust.

The car is now sorted, fking tossers at NATIONAL TYRES jacked up the car on the bottom of the disc, so after a few words, they paid me to take it to TVR POWER to replace both discs.

Eeek what a bnch of cnts it least it wasnt jacked up in the middle of wishbone or outrigger arm as a bend in one to them would have been more problematic to get sorted.
