Door lock 'issues'

....All self-inflicted!!

Came out of our local sports centre on Friday night, pressed the key fob and saw the 2 indicator flashes. Pressed the door release under the mirror - - nothing. Tried other door and boot - likewise no response.
Managed to get into car via the emergency method (edit), and got the engine fired, no problem. Doors would release on the internal buttons.
Did the usual of unplugging various door/immob/alarm ECUs, but still no joy. Spoke to Carl Baker on Monday and arranged appointment/tried a few things over the 'phone.

Yesterday, thought I'd change my CD pile ......located by steering column/pod. THAT'S when I saw the "lock yourself in button". All was clear!! The CD cases were pressing that button and locking me out!!

Thought I'd share for any other Tuscan newbies!

Same happened to me but it was a bottle of water idley chucked in there. Trouble was I was in a services at the top of the M62 and it started chucking it down with snow. By the time I'd got hold of the necessary tools to get into the car, there was a good 3" of fresh snow on the ground. To say the onward drive was hairy would be a massive understatement. Lesson learned!

Are you talking about the button next to where the immobilizer key plugs into ?? Pic would bbe great..

Yes - the insignificant black plastic thingy right next to the immobilizer key receptacle.
Think it was added to preveny car-mugging.

Car mugging?? It takes ages for the doors to open, unless you have the windows down already.. Plus, the muggers will have to figure out how the doors open first!!

If you ask me, I think that they probably had extra buttons and had to use them somehow..!! :-))

lol Its also not a real bank robbery get away car either, if you don't leave it running and the doors open. It makes me laugh imagining a robber wit a gun, mask and bag of money waiting nervously for the window to slide down so the doors can open.
