Seen one I may buy. Some questions for Tuscan experts
Discussion
Hi guys and gals, I have just seen a Tuscan I am interested in buying, but have a couple of questions that you may be able to help me with.
1. The speedo needle moves in jerks rather than a smooth sweep, is this normal?
2. The aluminium trim at the top of one of the doors needs replacing as it is marked. Is this easily do-able and is the part easily available?
3. The car has had almost one owner per year from new, is this a problem? Service history is complete and all important stuff has been done.
4. Gear knob needs replacing as its scratched, is this easy? and are they easily available.
5. The car has only 1 key, is it easy to get another? It also doesnt have the plug in thing for the immobiliser but this can be over ridden with the key, is that correct?
Thanks in advance

2. Yes and i would guess most parts available or breakers.
3. Quiet normal as most owners are secondary cars so move on after a year.
4. Next day and yes.
5. Yes but will need programming by a auto electrician and yes i don't use the plugin bit and you can also get that bit too.
No problem

Have a chat with Carl Baker on here.

He sorted out my key problem and would be my port of call in finding where to get a replacement. And naturlly would be able to get it working with your system as well.

Sorry one more question. Are slow windows normal? I have now seen 3 cars and only one window out of all 6 went at what I would call a normal speed, especially when nearing fully open
yep mine are what i would call slow and tend to speed up when nearly fully open and hence slow down when nearing the top, hth Looks like you have answers to your questions, trust PH for that
....i would add though that normally the questions for new buyers focus around the engine....does this all check out ok? How many miles, any engine work previously? Happy with it all?
Also check out the chassis any work on suspension components as after the engine they are the next expensive items to put right.

Happy with engine, rebuild and warranty, car has new clutch too, key issue is chassis and I am going to get that inspected, car is highish miles but lots of work has been done relatively recently
