Battery conditioner

Right having read the sticky about aux battery socket.
Do I

A) replace socket
B)remove totally and hardwire a battery conditioner
C) which one ctek?
D) any alternative plan?

Replacing the socket allows you to jump start the car if its parked away from a charge point or breaks down (if you have the leads to match.
Battery conditioners are ok ,ctec ok, worth paying more for the model that revitalises dead batteries.

But rather than counteract the fault is it not best to get to the route of the discharge?

Alternatively you could be posh and buy a battery low drop out relay (look under boats on e bay etc). would need a externally accessible relay reset rather than resetting when ignition is switched on

Traced the source of the problems -

Wife not allowing 'necessary Battery charging' jollies
Crap weather (like today)

Any suggestions?

I tried but she keeps coming back..........
She did say if I bought a TVR she would leave, can't trust anyone these days to keep to their word, ;-)

Right decision made, firstly no battery compartment cover so easy to see what is going on.







So now the decision is made, new socket for the jump point, and an auxiliary point for the ctek.

CHECK YOUR SOCKET ASAP

Neill on a serious note can i suggest if re fitting an anderson connector you use a nylon nut & bolt this should stop any over tightening & the cracking

Will do, thanks for the advice. Got the new socket just need to make up the cables,:-)
