Battery re-charge process

Hi all, I want to check if there are any foibles to be aware of in re-charging my battery.

When i went to get the car out of the garage today, doors wouldn't open (no reaction to the button under the mirror) It seems that I had left the boot resting closed, not properly shut, so I think that the boot light has flattened the battery. I was of course fortunate that the boot wasn't closed (and roof and rear screen were off) as my Anderson cables were in there

Oddly enough, although the doors wouldn't open, the boot light was still on so battery wasn't completely dead..................

Anyhow, put it on charge and came to work in the tintop - is there any specific procedure with the alarm/immobiliser after re-charging the battery?

Not sure if there is a certain process, but I would disable the boot light if I were you. The previous owner of my Tuscan had already done this...

I did exactly the same thing! very annoying!

I just put it on a decent battery charger and left it untill fully charged. Luckily I had a pretty new battery on it so all was ok!

Got home last night and all was well, no alarm issues. Decided it needed a good run just to make sure it was charging properly, so it got one

Off to Coventry tomorrow morning for a new head (and maybe more....) to solve its taste for oil........ Hope it absolutely lashes it down next week whilst I haven't got it
