Hi all

Just got home after driving around town (not very far, car didn't get very hot)... and switched off the engine, took the keys out and the cooling fans have stayed on. Temp gauges are now <80degs

Any ideas?

Going to take it for a drive to see if it somehow resets itself

Sounds like a stuck relay.

Is it both fans though?

Give the relay a push. Likely just slipped out a bit - mine used to do that.

Thanks. Was one fan, switched itself off after about 10 minutes driving.

If it happens again, where exactly are the relays / how do you push one back in again?

Cheers

make sure the connectors from the fans themselves are clean and free of corrosion, this will help as well.

I had this as well, and the first time I though that the fans would turn off after a while (as is the case with other cars..) and ended up with a flat battery.

Apparently, it was one of the relays getting stuck. Swap them and test it yourself.. In the end I changed both (around £6 each from Racing Green) and it got sorted. If you want to make the fan stop after your drive so that you dont drain your battery, just take the fan fuse out. You should be able to get the exact location from your owners manual. If you dont have it, look at www.mytuscan.co.uk there is loads of info there.

Good luck..
