Tuscan 2 in the wet?

Hoping to pick up the new toy at the end of the week and the forecast is rather wet.
So two questions please:
1) Is the targa roof likely to keep the rain out for the trip home - and
2) I know that you have to go easy on the wet roads but are there any other issues to watch?
I will be taking it easy anyway but any advice welcome......

Depends on the rubbers around the doors as to whether water gets in. Mine used to let a little in near the top of the drivers door but it was a very small amount. Only other problem with rain I had was when I never replaced the rear window properly leaving a gap.
As for any other problems, possibly get a efi fault coming up if it's very wet, nothing to worry about really as again, they like to do that in the wet.
Don't provoke it, drive sensibly and enjoy the admiring looks and you'll love it rain or shine.

Watch out for the 'white lines' on M-way off/on slips. Although it's a long throttle pedal throw, the temptation is to boot it, particularly joining a fast road and judging a gap.
Every winter there are usually a couple of posts on here telling how the back end stepped out joining or coming off motorways...Usually with expensive end results!

Drove my MK1 back from Ashington to Gloucestershire in the wet for the first time, put the roof on when I needed to but most of the time with the roof off, got some strange looks.....including 2 marked and one unmarked policecars on the M5.
One piece of advice is watch opening the windows with the rear screen in place, it has a tendency to go a different direction to the rest of the car, maybe not so much of an issue for the MKii but I just left mine out all the way home as the passenger window was stuck down.
Keep an eye on the oil temp and water temps, check the levels before you leave just to make sure. The car has to have been run to get the level right.
The best thing to remember is how special you are to be driving such a great car, and smile a lot (even when you are terrified!)

When I had my T2, I never had any issues with water ingress and both left it out and drove it in pouring rain.
As for driving it in the wet, do watch out for puddles and standing water as mentioned. I never had any 'moments', but then I stuck by keeping an eye out in adverse conditions and making sure I kept my driving as smooth as possible.
On just damp roads I was able to put a bit of power down and wag the back end a couple of times, and it was more controllable than I thought it would be. I'd imagine that was more 'luck' than skill though, and I think the line between 'Fun!' and 'F
k!!!!!!' could easily be crossed.

Well , picked up her yesterday about half one and came back down via Alston and the Hartside Cafe, down to Penrith and then the M6.
Only had one 'twitchy' moment with a white line on a bend and then it was fun all the way home, although down to 1 litre of fuel, just before Charnock Richard - entirely my fault of course. Coasted to the fuel pump virtually on air and then struggled to open the boot....
No issues whatsoever, even in heavy traffic near to Warrington.
The sound though - why do they ever put radios in these things?
Every time I approached a built up area, I opened the windows to listen to that beautiful noise.
In love - hell yes!
The only problem that I've found is that the dash keeps going off and I'm left with a blank screen and the garage is looking into it. It comes on again and then later it disappears again. The lights by the window buttons also go off at times.
Just bought a stormforce cover for it and she's now tucked up and on trickle charge, on the drive.
She'll be up and about again in any decent weather.
Talk about addictive...

Mine used to go nuts and throw random characters all over the display. The problem was a ribbon cable (I think) that was too tightly bundled with the main loom into the steering column; with a bit of slack and some hot glue at the connector end, it was sorted.Hi again
Have got all weather power sockets around the drive area and front garden, so extension cable to the car, in through the side window and charging via the cig lighter socket.
Seems okay because the car cover is in place which keeps the car dry.
Still using her when the weather permits.
No issues with wet driving / handling, just keep everything smooth.

I was going to store it in one of the warehouses for the winter, at work, but I don't want to miss any spur of the moment fine weather days.
Haven't found any problems in either wind or rain so far, although she's under cover for the worst of it.
A few rattles beneath the dash panel and behind the stereo from time to time but an absolute hoot to drive.
