ECU on Tuscan 2 convertible

Evening guys.

My Tuscan failed to start properly today, would fire but wouldn't run smoothly like it was a pot or two down, revs rising and 'pulsing' without picking up. ECU fault suspected....

Q. Is it possible to do a soft reset on the ECU, unplug & reconnect type thing? If so where will i find the ECU..?

Hi Paul, nice looking car! You can find the ECU nestled behind the carpet in the drivers footwell, to the right of the throttle peddle. Not sure about soft restarting, you might find it useful to get the diagnostics software and a cable, loads of info on here. Unless you've got a reason to suspect the ECU I'd probably more inclined to look at HT leads, Coil, and water ingress first. Was it running ok last time you used it?

ECU can occasionally leave one t pot behind on a rapid start up.

Try a slower sequence allowing needles to dance & the fuel pump prime
, stop and then crank.

Cheers Guys. I know about the possible issues of trying to rush the start-up so always take my time. It's struggled a couple of times before when it's cold / damp but there doesn't seam to be much pattern to it.

Started OK tonight for example and that was after being left outside since Saturday morning as I couldn't get it back up the drive... i'll get it in to Hexham Horseless as i've more faith in there ability to sort it than I do of mine.

hi mine was doing the same , turned out wiring loom for no 6 cylinder had it changed and fine . Heard it was a common problem with the tuscan 2
