A strangeTuscan request, please help
Discussion
Hi all,
Having owned an 05 plate T350c and now I currently have a concourse Griff 500 & I do mean serious concourse. I have decided that I am going to search for a Tuscan s mk2 but it must have the Mk3 wavey dash, usually found on 06 or 07 cars etc. If any of you out there are thinking of selling and have a targa or convertible Tuscan s mk2 with the last edition dash I have the CASH WAITING TO BUY.
2nd choice is to purchase one with the 2nd edition dash and then hope I come across the latest dash the wavey one. Does any one know if the later dash is compatible, wiring loom etc.
I know the request is a little unusuall but I simply cant stand the mk2 dash. Please do not take any offence. It's simply a personel taste thing.
Look forward to any help or even if any one know's of a mk3 dash for sale please.
Thanking you all in advance.

Hi all, I have today viewed a Tuscan and yes it did have the Baboon arse interior as stated by others. It takes a lot and a brave man to fall in love with that interior. It's like dating a really ugly bird but you fall in love because you grow to love her, not that I am talking from experience of course.
Anyway, Kelly the answer to your question is a very BIG NO, GF have not yet seen the car as the previous owner has delayed things a little plus we have not yet had the weather to photograph car. Are you intrested Mr Kelly in probably the best ever Griff 500 you will ever lay eyes on, I am very serious, the car's spec is unbelievable.
Over to you Mr Simon, you can contact me via my website on my profile. Please do call me and we can discuss your Tuscan.
If anyone else is up for selling a Tuscan s MK3 wavey dash please do contact me asap as I am looking to committ to a purchase asap if the perfect car comes along.
Once again, thanking you all.

I to have put the 4.3 conversion in the car and at a cost or 9.25k GBP all I have to show is a smmoother and quieter engine it is certainly no quicker than the 4 lt S that is sitting on my garage floor. Saying that the tortured noise of the original engine is a welcome absence.
The car by the way still wants to kill me at the slighest oppertunity so no difference there then.
The Griff in the back ground I have owned for 11 years and to be honest and it really does hurt me to say this is still the quicker of the two 0-60 mph. after that the tuscan leave the Griff as if its going backwards.
I do believe that the money would have been better spent on the suspension and wheel set up There is a limit to how much power you can put on the ground without making some radical changes with these cars.
By the way Im looking at putting a LS9 engine in I know a certain man that does such things.

LS9? No point I promise you, save your money and go LS7 or LS3 with some nice mods. Also the LS9 would look terrible as you would have to change the look of your car.I to have put the 4.3 conversion in the car and at a cost or 9.25k GBP all I have to show is a smmoother and quieter engine it is certainly no quicker than the 4 lt S that is sitting on my garage floor. I have a Mk '3' 'S' and I agree the 2 interiors are night and day in terms of visual attraction. Mine isn't for sale but from speaking to Jason at Str8six it isn't just the dash they changed. The whole wiring loom and electrics are different and he said they have many less problems in a whole hos of areas. For that reason alone I'd wait for a proper Mk'3' rather than getting a Mk2 and converting.
It might be worth giving him a call for the full technical info on the differences.

Hi Tuscanlad, did you buy you car from Grangemouth, If so I know the guy who sold it to you and he really looks after his cars, its a cracker..I to have put the 4.3 conversion in the car and at a cost or 9.25k GBP all I have to show is a smmoother and quieter engine it is certainly no quicker than the 4 lt S that is sitting on my garage floor. Why did you change to a 4.3 and would you say it was money well spent at £9.25k! I have thought about it,but its a lot of cash, I would be expecting a HUGE improvement.
Hi g20rb g
no i dont think performance wise it was worth it as i mentioned the engine is quieter but thats it it revs higher by the way .
Yes i bought the car in Scotlandafter looking for one for nearly a year it was absoully mint when I got it and i like to think I kept it that way
trouble is I live abroad so never get to drive it

Mr lock pick,
I may have the very thing your looking for, a Mk3 2007 wavy dash Tuscan 4.0S tagra, in glow red, very very low miles the last of the last made .(except those of Racing Greens)
A well rare model apparently there are only 26 MK3 Tagras out there (inc few S spec)( with latest engines)
I believe all the convertibles were wavy dashes and a lot more of them produced so easier to find and more choice.
I could probably source you all the Mk3 bits dash, brackets, harness colm, clocks, stalks air box, electronics, steering wheel switch gear to convert Mk2(baboons ass dash as you put it) to wavy dash (Mk3+ convertible) interior, door cards and window switches.even ECU
probably including body shell as the column and rack changed at some point, hence the bulk head was changed/ modified to allow for this.I'm sure, there are also other body shell differences all be it subtle,
Even the air filter base was different to allow for the change of column, if im right.
Then in not so sure when the front suspension and hubs changed and then the bonnets changed at some point..(Dose any one know if the Mk2 are the same bonnets as tuscan or Mk3? (MK3 and tuscan ARE DIFFERENT))
Im mot sure if the suspention and hubs changed between tuscan and tuscan 2 or tuscan 2 and tuscan 3
Altogether a mammoth job and not cheap either even if you did the job yourself
Sorry No cheap and easy compromise on a one off wavy dash conversion.
Its either learn to live with the lesser reliable Mk2 dash
or buy the ultimate refined tvr a convertible or rare Mk3 (both wavy dashed)
Str8six or Racing Green, myself or others may be able to build you a car to your spec from new parts ££££ (any thing is possible after all there only a glorified kit car)

A toy, load of parts from various sources and cars manufacturers all hand packaged with wood screws and glue, around a rough fiberglass shell and steel chassis , lacking refinement left to the purchaser or 3rd party to assemble and adapt and modify in to a usable automobile.
TVRs were sold as a kit car when it all started from what i recall.
