right hand radiator fan not working

Yes, 96 degres in traffic

Offside fan will cut in 91-92 degC
Nearside 96-98 degC

Seperate sensor for the POD and the fans so some difference is likely.

Can you swap the fan feeds to test the motor?

Check the fuse, I had the same problem, when I pulled the fuse out it came apart. New fuse and both working.

check the connector, mine was goosed. Take it apart and look for corrosion, then give it a clean with some contact cleaner. Mine also had some damage on the wiring, and it should be cable tied to the fan frame.

Could also be the relay, try swopping them around.

I checked the 2 30amp fuses and they seem ok.

How do you get to the connector? Do I need to remove the bonnet or can I access it under the steering wheel like the fuse box? Thank you

Thats correct. You can test this without running the engine by disconnecting the rear water temperature sensor although this is a bit awkward to get to as the main bonnet & airbox have to be removed to access the connector.

You need to revoke bonnet, connector is about 12-18" away from the fan. Sometimes you can pull it through but best to remove bonnet!

btw, while checking the fuses, i noticed a blue connector that wasnt connected to anything, next to the steering rack. will try to take a picture. Could that be related (my guess is not, but worth a question here )

May be easier to make a fused link on the fan 2 relay than taking bonnet off.

The digital temp is not what drives the ECU.

Pins 30 to 87 if I recall.

Can borrow mine if you are south of the river.

I'm not a Tuscan expert but its bloody freezing out there - is it possible the 92 degree fan is providing enough cooling to bring the temp down again before it gets hot enough to kick in the second fan?

So that would be the Offside fan? Should cut in 91-92 degC with the Nearside cutting in at 96-98 degC. You did say the fan did run at 92 degC.

Sorry just confused as to which fan isnt running.

Sorry about the confusion I caused, I meant the right hand fan should be the first one to start, when the temperature is rising, but it never starts, even with a 98 deg temp (today, record ever)

I had this and it was the fan connector at the front. They're not weather proof so over time the connector spades corrode through and break.

You'll need to take the main bonnet off but the connectors are easy to find once you look. The you need plugs are the "MC2" from these guys:
