Lots of posts from TVR folk regarding Hagerty's withdrawl from the TVR market.
I'm with Mannings - £420'ish for my 2004 Mk.1, full no claims, 7K miles a year, Southampton (suburbs) postcode. I guess I'm considered a mature driver at 59....which must help with premium, ;-).
Mannings used to be the TVRCC preferred insurer.
Have been good to deal with - covered me for "parade" laps at Le Mans Classic this year - subject to track-day excess.
However, other folk have been (reasonably) quoted by A.Flux and the 'on-line' brokers....but with Mannings you get to speak with someone that knows the cars....and they are NOT just 'ticking boxes'.

I've been doing the rounds for the Griff (which is due in early Jan) and am waiting for some prices. Mannings have replied but were more than I'd expected (even allowing for a small loading for some minor engine work); Henderson Taylor (Matthew is away at the moment but replied very quickly telling me that) will come back to me later this month; MSM will quote but can't agree value as not 15 years old, RH Insurance reply is awaited and I asked Classicline some questions before I go into detail with them (as previously they didn't cover you if the car was left on the drive for more than a very few minutes and if still the same no use to me) but no reply as yet. It'll be interesting to see what the results are.
Any other strong recommendations for people I should ask to quote??

I tried Classicline but it was a requirement that the car was garaged so no good for me either at the moment.Jim
When I was with Classicline the car was 'garaged' but they insisted that it was not covered if it was left on the drive for more than about 5 mins - ie come home intending to go out in an hour so I would need to - pull up on drive and switch off the engine - get out of car and lock it/set alarm - go into house and open garage - unlock car start up and drive into garage - shut garage - 1 hour later repeat in reverse order - what a load of rubbish but they insisted on it and were not for moving. I asked about after washing the car and leaving it to dry properly but again no joy there so the next year I changed to Hagerty - sadly a new insurer now has to be found so I wonder if Classicline is still the same - I've asked but no reply as yet.

That's ridiculous. Sounds as though they would be happy if you just parked it up in the garage & left it there. Perhaps as well they couldn't quote me!alarm - go into house and open garage

Define garage. isn't the ozone layer one big garage?
may be you could buy one of those transparent portable garages(made by the famous bouncy castle firm "Dream-scape ") that get blown away in the wind, try explaining that on the claim form.
Umm my Tuscan has been blown off in the garage.
Most Tuscan get crashed due to handling issues and driver error or XS speed (as the government put it, after doing extensive research,(i want to b a government researcher)
But i know different, its not speed that is responsible for accidents its sudden reduction in it that's the problem i can tell en that for nowt.) or just catch fire so i cant see why the ins co are fussed about a garage, most piston heads tuscan wouldnt start for the owners if you do manage get in to them and break down up the road if they do start, the noise of the pussy-less pipes would mask any alarm siren (judging by most of the postings on here )so there not really a theft risk.
Has any one ever known of Tuscan been stolen?
