Squeaky rear window

Ever since I took the rear window out & put it back in again, it has deveoped a squeak which is driving me mad.

I have bought some anti-squeak tape which will hopefully solve this. My question is; do I put the tape over the very top edge of the window or on the outside face of the screen at the top (if you see what I mean)?

I put a thin strip of soft side of velcro across the outside top of the rear window where it rubs against the bodywork. Works a treat.

soft side of vecro tape works for me too top and bottom of rear screen, a squirt of silicone spray is helpful too.

I had the same thing, it started squeaking after I'd removed it and then put it back. I'd already got the leading edge tape on the edge and velcro lined clips, had a fiddle and it seems that if the window is slightly off centre or slightly low whe the clips are locked on, it squeaks. getting the window central and paying attention to how high it sat in the clips and the noise was completely gone.

I've also fitted 3 small clear stops (the self adhesive kind you fit to kitchen doors to stop them banging) underneath the leading edge of the boot so that they press gently against the bottom of the screen, and two more that press against the back of the clips. This makes a big difference to the squeaking.

I have also issues with squeaking, and have temporarily cured it by putting a small piece of cloth (around 4cm long) between the screen and the boot, where I could see contact.

Also noticed that there is a long strip of foam tape on the inside at the edge of the boot, which is worn and needs to be replaced - looks like it was put there to push against the screen and stop it from rubbing against the boot. Not sure if this foam tape was put there by the previous owner or by TVR (does anyone else have this??). Once this is replaced, I think the squeaking will stop..

Fitting the velcro & leading edge tape does help, but the best fix I have found is to fit the metal window clips. The plastic ones bend after a while & the screen is then not held in the correct position and it rubs on the boot lid.

I've discovered that my screen is rubbing on the boot so I will sort it at weekend. Was too busy driving it yesterday to fix it!!

Metal clips are on my list if things to do.
