Wire wheels on my Tuscan ???

S. Gonzales Esq. on General Gassing kindly did a photoshop for me of my Tuscan with wire wheels.
I've always liked E Types with wire wheels and wondered what a Tuscan would look like.
I dont think it works but thought I would post it for your comments.

Hi So Called, fab colour tuscan. Silver doesn't do it for me, but if they were Anthracite, then they would look great, in my opinion.

Sorry not for me, I love wire wheels but the Tuscan is far to modern to suit wires.

Confusing. Regarding the wheels you would expect another car and vv. Look at the car, stunning curves from the 90's mixed with beautiful wheels from another era. Like an E-type with the Tuscan's spyders. Styles are too different. Sometimes you'll get amazing results mixing up, but this doesn't do it imo.

Being an e-type owner i can tell you the amount of flex in wire wheels is scary until i changed over to the dunlop wheels i never realised the wheels were the cause, it used to feel like when you ski, i'd turn the wheel and for a fraction of a second there would be a pause and then it would dig in and corner, in retrospect that was the wheels flexing. I hate to think what a tuscan would be like with it

I am like a Magpie,and have an attraction to shiny things but soon loose interest now when it comas to cleaning, the knock off centres would be cool

Thanks for all the feedback, it was exactly what I was hoping for.
Its funny but something about it I like but then something else I dont.
Overall I think not.
The responses show peoples personal opinion and so at the end of the day its down to me.
Its the same with my SP12's, plenty of people like them but even more love spiders.
Could mess around with other wire wheel designs but it would be a waste of time.

I appreciate the point made about the flexing of wire wheels.
My Tuscan, despite having new suspension and geo set up, is still no where as good as my Mk1 was after the same work. Certainly dont want to introduce a new factor.

Actually, it's not quite the same with SP12's. They're significantly lighter and stronger than Spiders and also have the correct offset so there is a significant performance difference in their favour which is not something which can be said for wires! Whether you like them or not is another matter of course...

From what you say about off set, then I assume the 12mm spacers wont help ?

Thanks Jurgen, I was close to buying a 2005 one same colour as yours but my lovely wife found me this 2006 for the same price. Colour is Bentley Saphire Blue.
