Serious vibrations
Discussion
Hi All,
Just got back from PH sunday service and i've only just stopped shacking! I noticed the other day when driving though London that I had a very slight new noise/vibration, today when I got going on the motorway and gave it some gas the vibrations got to the point that I felt like I was driving a tumble dryer. I've checked all wheel nuts they are all fine (you never know), I suspect that it could be one of the engine/gearbox mounts but just wanted your valued opinions!
I will give Dom a ring in the morning, thanks, Mr C

could be loose prop or diff mounting or even a bleb on a tyre wall, any clunks when stepping on and off the gas? steering wobble or rear end like a ducks ass? .exesive gear leaver movement or engine rocking when reved out of gear?
sure it will be in capable hands with the lads @ at Power.
Good luck for a cheap fix.
Apart from that how was the day out? any pictures

Prop or diff mounting sounds likely as there is very minimal movement in the gear stick area and there's no clunking and steering is true and no vibration through the steering wheel (just the rest of the car!
), it's just when your driving or giving it some gas.
It was a great turn out this morning, TVR owners did us proud, it was just blooming cold! My mate took some pics, i'll see if I can grab them.

How closely did you inspect the condition of the tyres? Any splits or bubbles on the inside tyre walls?
Also, did you check the wheels for flat spots whilst they were off the car? Spiders are made from cheese and a good pot-hole WILL buckle them. Again, had this happen to me twice now...

One rear tyre was low on the inside but no bubbles or splits! One front wheel had slight buckle but it balanced out ok. I'm not getting any movement/vibration on the steering wheel, it feels like it is coming from the back, hit 70 mph this morning and it's getting louder (feels like your on a powerplate) and as soon as I let off the gas it quietens off.
