MPG Better than I thought it would be!

Drove the Tuscan on the longest trip since I bought it in October. 200 miles, nearly five hours of driving. Motorways, stop start town driving, horrible 5 mph queue on the M42 and some spirited overtaking on A and B roads. Average fuel consumption 28.3 mpg

Thats impressive - I've had 28mpg from my tuscan 4L red rose once but that was averaging about 50ish on A roads. Wonder if anyone has had over 30mpg out of a speed 6?

I used to get about 29 in my Mk1 Tuscan driving to Germany but its a bit lower in my Mk2.
Maybe a bit heavier with my right foot.

On a 2800 mile trip down through France and Spain 18 months ago my overall average was 28 mpg. A mixture of all road/driving types, the motorway bits at around 85 mph, with a lot of it roof off in c.30 degree + temps.

Yes, on a trip to lemans and the rain was horrendous the whole way so had to cruise at 70-80 the whole way. Managed to just crack 30 mpg

No one ever believes me when I tell them I get 25-28mpg in the tuscan! Tunnel runs are a very different story but hey, we all need to have a heavy foot once and a while! Mr C

I think you're all looking at this the wrong way;)
Surely with a Tuscan the challenge should be to get the mpg as low as possible (over a reasonable distance) - this would be much more fun!
I was disappointed to only get down to 26mpg on a run to Belgium in December (worried about those foreign speed enforcement), but I've since been able to get it down to 21 mpg on local roads. Hopefully when the roads dry up I'll be able to get it lower, although I've found that spinning the wheels up helps, but makes going in a straight line quite hard

Speed limits and traffic tend to be the things that allow my mpg to be 28.

Had a mark 1 Tuscan for 5 years and covered something like 35k miles. I reckoned my fuel consumption to be - motorway 28 mpg, everyday 18mpg and track 8mpg.

I went to Birmingham on monday and drove fast (is that better?). I rather like the get up and go over 4000 rpm

Clearly as this is the uk not germany at no point did I exceed the arbitrary limit
