I've found a couple of Lockheed remote servos on ebay, but they go for around £80 so I thought I'd just adapt a cheaper (£20ish), smaller servo from a mini or something.
I intend to fit the servo first, and leave the all round drum brakes to see how my stopping improves before I go to the trouble of uprating to front discs.
Some of you, I know think that having to apply a full 15 stone to the pedal is how things ought to be on a Jago, but it certainly took the fun out of driving it for me... I was bloody knackered by the time I got home.
I told my dad, who used to be in the motor trade, about the Samuri brakes and he said in his day most all brakes were terrible. Brakes that actually stopped a vehicle in a reasonable distance were a luxury. It seemed as if brakes were a design afterthought! So I guess we are spoilt a bit nowadays. Nevertheless I need the peace of mind that when I apply the brakes the vehicle does stop!

Have you tried adjusting the TLR front brakes - this is often a problem - it is a chore getting them right, but when they are correctly set-up the brakes are totally different.
If you want to up-grade before going for the servo, fit Capri struts and discs or struts off a Mk2 escort with disc brakes this involves a little modifying work to the top of the suspension tower. Personally I would opt for the Capri option as it would also lower the Sammi by just over an inch.
I think a servo and drums would be horrendous loads of lock-ups and leaving black marks on the road.

Ok Jon, first job is to check the brake settings this weekend as you describe. I'll do this before I do any mods, cos' I'm telling you there was no way I could have got the Sam to make skid marks when driving it home - daresay I had a few tho'! lol
It's not me, something wasn't right with the brakes, yet there was no pulling or anything. My old Landy has drums all round with a servo and I've never felt the need to uprate to disc.
But then again the old Landy is a tad heavier than the Sam, so maybe people are right, and a servo might be too fierce on the Sam.
Will investigate this weekend and report back as and when.

I agree that the brakes on Jagos are not quite up to modern standards & when I got mine they were rubbish...!!!
I have fitted new discs & pads, rear cylinders & shoes and renewed all the copper lines and fitted braided flexi hoses (Rally Design £17.50 + vat for all 3) and fitted new seals in the master cylinder, ie everything has been renewed.
The braking has been transformed, now it stops very well and all for approx £100 (mine was all mk1 escort based) and a week of evenings to fit.
I would definitely recommend overhauling the braking system instead of a servo conversion.

I've got a single circuit remote servo for sale at £50 if you are interested.
It worked when removed from the vehicle about 2 years ago, but that's all I can promise as I've no way of testing it.

Finally got chance today to take a look at Black Sam's brakes and the puzzle to my stopping problem has been partially resolved.
3 of the 4 front wheel cylinders are seized solid! No wonder I had trouble stopping the beastie... or indeed, even slowing her down! It also explains why the foot pedal is so rock hard with hardly any movement on pressing it.
I say problem 'partially resolved', as I'm yet to examine the rear brakes. Methinks new wheel cylinders all round should sort her out.
