Plates can be a bit confusing when it comes to dating Geeps , my red one was built in '89 but is on its donor plate '79 V , yet the other 2 on Q plates were built/registered in '84 and '86.
At the first ever meet I arranged back in January there was a '91 onwards 3 wipered Sandero but tax exempt on a '63 A reg suffix ........!
A lot of it is down to regional licensing offices the A reg one was built using a tax exempt Mark 1 which had carried a 3 letter 3 number cherished plate so they just gave it that plate like they used to do with Moggys and A35's when their original numbers were sold on before age related non-transferable plates became the norm.

mines no where near as old as the 73 k plate, its just that when it was built the car used as the donor was a k plate 73, its just that enough of the car was used at the time to convince the local dvla inspector that enough parts where used from the donor to keep the donors plate, i believe this sort of thing is very hard to do these days, nice to be tax exempt though.
thanks for the welcome.
