narrower 15inch weels
Discussion
has anyone out there in jago land had any experience of narrow 15inch weels? With my previous geep i reduced to 14inch and found the general handleing alot better both on and off road. as my current geep has wide arches it would require a lot of work to go down to 14"sixes. has anyone tried 15"sixes with a greater offset?
Quite a few Geeps have used 15 x 6 , 15 x 7 and in some cases 15x 8 rims. Most of these rims where produced by Weller when they were the main supplier to companies such as Jago Automotive. The offset was made suitable for the Escort system so that no fouling occured on the front struts or the inside of the Geeps rear arches.
Tyres fitted ranged from the standard 185 or 195 to in some cases 235. Naturally the wider the tyre/rim the more loading placed on parts such as the steering rack, wheel bearings and suspension components. Another problem is aquaplaning on wet road surfaces.
