The very first car I ever tested 20 odd years ago was an original Lotus 7 Twin Cam lent to me by Graham Nearn himself. I have adored Caterham's ever since and loved every improved model that I have tested, especially the intoxicating R500.
'b10' is closest to the mark with his suggestions as where they perhaps should now head, having just launched the 'CSR'. With the new Quaife R40's arrival, weighing in at some 780kg they would struggle to create such a car. More PERTINENTLY, why bother. '21' was not the sort of car people expected from Caterham. The 7 silhouette is as iconic and valuable to them as the evergreen trad Morgan shape is to Charles Morgan's family business.
