Yorkshire motorists too polite: official
Chaos caused by letting cars in from side roads
According to Auto Express, motorists in Harrogate, N Yorks, are causing traffic chaos by being too polite. They let too many cars in from side roads on the Skipton Road, the town's busiest road. The consequences are that it adversely affects traffic flow, according to a town spokesman.
Maybe they need lessons from owners of a certain marque...

So...less BMWs in Harrogate then? (only joking before I get flamed).
My experience is that West Yorkshire has the worst drivers in the country. Seat belt wearing is voluntary and front fog lights apparently obligatory. Then the old school drive at the same speed everywhere regardless of the prevailing speed limit and are usually so old that they were exempt from taking the driving test, the only experience they have is from driving when in the army (WW1 and WW2).

Whenever I slow down to let someone out in Barnsley, it takes them so long to react I wonder why I bothered!
I wonder how the town officials would like to fix this problem? Congestion charging, block side roads...
Or just don't go to Harrogate!
it is certainly a lot more civilised than driving around bradford. hard to believe both places are in yorkshire.
driving styles contrast as much as property prices between the two.
