I wish to seek assylum in Coventry as my insurance is too dear and I fancy another car.
Since when has ignorance of the law been a defence?

WTF !!! I just cannot believe the lunacy and hypocracy of this. Sorry if this is also in the long "living in an assylum" thread but it bears repeating. This is an abuse of my taxes. When pulled over in another country for "speeding" do you think I got off by saying "Oh sorry,, I was unaware there are laws in your country"

Well, to be calm and pragmatic about this for a moment, there's obviously a problem of these people driving like muppets about and causing shite..
So what can we do?
Well we could arrest them all and lock them up, if you like, but the multitudinous logistical problems would rule that option out, speaking realistically.
Or, we could get them to sign up for some free stuff, which will probably do them no good, but at least the police might be able to connect name to face to number plate sometimes. If that's the only outcome and there's some success from it, is the stupid ill-conceived civil-service perpetuating scheme deemed a success?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking you, I understand your sentiment entirely - the problem is it's easy to see this as another thing that encourages spongers to line up at the border, because it probably is.
In the grand scheme though, it's a tiny weeny possible slight reason why some wiley avaricious Albanian might risk his life to get to England. In Albania he doesn't need a license to do shit - so why come here to get one?

Problem solved then, let's all claim asylum from numpties in albania... start hooning round albanian streets with no regard for the people who've lived there all their lives, oh - and not forgetting to nick as much stuff as we can, rape as many women as we can and generally piss on the albanian police department's barbeque.

I'm seriously thinking of finishing my degree, saying fcuk the student loan payments, and leaving on a jet plane to somewhere where petrol is cheap, cars below 5.0 litres are 'economy transport' and where jobs pay out three times as much as they do over here, and the cost of living is roughly half...

You'd last about an hour before they took you out the back and beat 7 kinds of s*** out of you, especially for p**ing on their BBQ!??!
I don't read any newspapers, I get all my news from PH, but from the conversations on here it seems they're all completely depressing. Could someone please find something nice in the papers to discuss. Or failing that could someone describe todays page 3 tits (or tit depending on photographic angle)

There are deserving cases and we should help those people, but its the seammingly 99% of the ****ers who just come here to sponge off my fecking income/speed camera tax...
imho if your a genuine asylum seaker you will do you upmost to follow the laws of the land and be gratefull for what you get... SO breaking any of the countys Laws whilst waiting for your case to be decided should mean instant deportation no questions...
Caught driving a car without a licence, dont give them fecking licences send em back to earn a crust where they came from..
Now thats not a send them all home cry its a send home

Im sure if i had left my own country under fear of death to escape to a new life somwhere else i would do my damdest to keep my new found county happy????
I also find it interesting the number of males that come across on their own leaving a family behind...
now if i feared for mine and my families saftey i wouldnt leave the wife and daughter behind, id either send them or stay and look after them or is that just some wierd western view?
