I have a discovery Td5 and it has air suspension, now I want you to imagine if you will that it has 25% weight distrubution to each wheel (I know its not a beemer but hey!)
Now on the back you have air suspension and its not sitting right, the maximum suspension travel is 60mm (on road) but mine is leaning over 30mm to the nearside effectively meaning that 37.5% of the weight load is on the nearside rear and 12.5% on the offside.
Now imagine you are going quickly (and they can if you try hard enough!) say 70-80 down an A road at night and you have to brake hard for one reason or the other, you stand on the brakes you have enough distance to stop but you have a suspension problem what does the car do.......????
Well it swerves to the damn left doesn't it!!
I was thinking about the laws of physics til 3 this morning and my head is now spinning so I just need a little help!! This is an actual problem with my car and I would be interested to hear from anyone else with the same or similar problem. Remember ford years ago that knew they had a problem but it was cheaper to pay the compensation than recall the cars???? Well changing lanes on the M25 at 70 mph without warning wouldn't be exactly humourous would it!
