This may be what MG Rover say, but economically it does not make much sense. The Pound has been weakening against the euro for most of that time. Sounds like they are just not making cars whaich appeal to the buyers in europe and are looking for an excuse to placate shareholders.

With no MG out there, they're only flogging Rover 24/45/75 which are not exciting bits of kit and easily outclassed by the competition.

No, no, no! Strength of Euro should be a good thing for any British company exporting to Euroland - it makes 'em cheaper to buy abroad. It's Euro weakness that was a problem. If that's how good MG/Rover are at their sums, then no wonder they ain't selling many...
