When I were a lad, police, ambulance and fire engine drivers were heroes who came to save lives and help people. Now they're people we can sue if we let our children play on busy roads and get run over by them.
"What a load of Balls" said Mr Balls.
Great name, Philip!

East Anglian Ambulance Service has been sent 1,050 speeding tickets by Cambridgeshire Police in the past 12 months, said ambulance resource manager Philip Balls.
In the same period it received 27 speeding tickets from Suffolk, and none from Norfolk - both counties are covered by the service.
To prove the driver was on an emergency call a form has to be sent to headquarters staff and individual ambulance stations, said Mr Balls.
He said: "On one day a driver could have between six and 10 forms to fill in. There is the speeding ticket to complete and there is an exemption form to complete and send back to police.
"It is time consuming and other counties don't do it so I don't know why Cambridgeshire do.

I wonder how many parking tickets they got?
Damned inconvinient of them screaming around everywhere, lights ablaze, making a helluva noise like they own the bleedin road...and parking where ever they see fit, what-what. Don't know why they can't park in a multi-storey or in a car park just like the rest of us. hmmph hmmph.

Jeez... the only place you'd find more red tape is a factory that makes the stuff... even then, it's probably a close call.
I'm with Bonce on this - these guys should be revered as heros, putting their lives at risk for our good... we shouldn't be wasting their time with this b****x.

I get loads of these to fill in, they are a pain in the ar5e. Even if blue lights are shown activated in the picture we still get issued the NIP and have to fill out an exemption. I have had 8 this year alone.
No blue lights and no control log showing where you were going and you have a sticky wicket to bat on. Even if you were going after someone that evades capture down a side street with no job on the command and control log. The FPT office shows no mercy even to those that work within the organisation that supports it.
