The design would take up time during which they couldn't make any records.

Come on Thrust let's go, I want to see the saucey scoucey/jordie, whatever the hell they are, girlies.

They will have only picked out colour schemes and stuff as an excuse to get some "celeb's" on the stand.

Maybe the new MG's will have fur lined glove boxes.

Always nice to catch a glimpse of a new muff.

Not wishing to decry the product before we've all had a chance to see it, but having talked to Rover engineering the project is affectionately known as "Scrapheap chalenge" internaly.

I believe they've already been bollocked for this outragous and irresponsible display of recklessness

Well what ever it was, all that remains on my (usually scarily high res') radar is the original was a stinker, and if the packaging was as bad as the looks, MG should've known they had a nightmare on their hands.

"pas de sympathy" I'm afraid, they should've started from scratch...

...but I guess it wouldn't be a proper MG then.

hmph!

Apparently Peter Stevens has also chosen the motor show to launch his debut single

Great to see the attacks on MG Rover are as strong as ever, perhaps ALL British industry should be closed.
This should really upset some of you, I think MG ROVER are doing a GREAT job.

I have to agree with you on this one. Considering how they were pi55ed around by BMW, I think their progress since independance is commendable. I'd question a few of the decisions such as a diesel MG, but they're definitely making good progress. All they need to do now is to replace the 25/ZR and 45/ZS with models of the same calibre as the 75/ZT and they'll be laughing.

There aren't any attacks on MG Rover in this thread (as far as I can see) - most are at the expense of Atomic Kitten or the Qvale Mangusta, but given what MG have managed to do with a Rover 400 - that's not necessarily a worry.

If MG were to produce a diesel ala BMW 330D they could be on to a winner.

Those that drove the original were full of praise for the chassis and powertrain but less happy with the looks and fittings.

MG have retained the chassis and powertrain and changed the rest..... lapped Nogaro at 203 mph.. Stylist says its been made macho for those who find TVRs too girlie... available in 350 and 500 bhp form..

Ken Qvale is not known for getting things very wrong.

We'll all know a bit more next week.
