Hey i just came across this on ebay.co.uk, as im a new member i can't post links, but if you search for item 267014905541 "BMW X3 3.0 M COMPETITION Black Sapphire Metallic", and when checking the reg on google i came across your post.

I’d guess the car has long since been found and is now for sale having been through the insurance or recovered to the owner then sold

Well the add was modified or ended on the 5th October ... make of that what you will ... the vendor had minimal ebay profile selling what looked like smoke detector parts ??
