I hope they don't increase the charges
I use this daily and it's bad enough that I'm paying just under £500 a year to use it.
Increase the charges and i'll be a little miffed!

All proceeds from the charging scheme.....will be spent on transport schemes.

Yeah right.. Le Crossing is an independent company so how will there be any 'spare' proceeds???

Gentlemen, it's time to call a spade a metal ended digging implement.

For "congestion charge", read "tax".

It's that simple.

Just sample the Dartford crossing on a Friday evening and it is most certainly a cause of conjestion to equal any other. France has the same problems when the roads are busy. Try getting away from the Alps on a Saturday during the ski season. Home from home!

I wonder how much congestion there would be at Dartford if you didn't have to stop to pay/scan your tag?...

With 4 lanes one way and six? the other, it should be one of the quickest parts of the motorway!

Come to that what transport schemes are they going to spend the money on? Anyone suspect it might be tax cameras?

I am the only one that finds this fffind disgusting. Here was a pledge made by parliment in the 80's to the people which is now being disregarded at a whim. WTF is going on in this country, I seems that nothing said, nothing at all can be believed.

Isn't it daft that the whole of a motorway is provided 'free' whilst we have to pay to cross a bridge.

Its about time the enabling act that permits charging for estuarial crossings (Transport dept speak) was scrapped.

The only good thing about toll booths is that they give you a good excuse for a drag race!

So the governement say the toll is an anti-congestion charge now, right!?

If the toll boths were ripped out, there would be no bleedin' congestion to charge!

By the way - the dart tag lanes accept cash too - even though they say they don't. Saves bags of time - does pee those who have a tag off a bit though!
