The comment made by the spokeswoman makes her sound like a right wally.

"We rely on the public to tie our shoe laces for us..."

Personally I like the fact that this shows that crims are complete and utter plonkers.
"Hey man lets take some pic on this guys camera of us nicking his car, that'll be a lark."

The fact they wanted to nick a Toyota Corolla shows their level of intellect and style anyway....nasty nasty cars.

Similar thing happened down my way a few years ago (when I lived in Surrey). Some scrotes broke into 5 cars on the estate in one night and stole the ICE and other kit. No leads at all until somebody found a camera that had been in one of the cars, the idiots had taken photos of themselves breaking into the cars and then thrown the camera away.

I think Toad do an alarm system that uses a hidden camera in the dash that takes pictures every 3 seconds if the alarm is tripped. Picture of scroat nicking you head unit, priceless

While these two tossers got jail, many don't. Dependent on what motor you drive (room available to do this), instead of having your high decibel alarm under the bonnet (always thought this was daft), you conceal it INSIDE the car, pref in the headlining, and triggered to go off the moment the ignition is tripped or when the door shuts. You of course need to remember this yourself or have safeguard!! Guarantee would-be thief(ves) will not drive car, and if they don't get the sentence they deserve you live happily in the knowledge that the sods will be not just be dumb but deaf as well. There are those do-gooders who will say 'you can't do that' but all I am saying is IT'S MY CAR, MY PROPERTY, if they want to be daft enough to enter, hard luck! There is a loophole to stop them suing you but afraid can't disclose that for obvious reasons.

So the Criminals have actually been put them in jail instead of sending them on holiday!!!

18 months ago a guy was actually found inside my car by two Officers from Durham Constabulary (it was a 'R' reg Ford Fiesta - not even anything decent!). He had broke into the car and pushed it up the street where he would not be heard trying to get the car started. He had the fuse box off and the car was a mess throughout.

And what did he get - 18 years old, his first offence (or the first one he was caught for), £55.00 court costs and let off!! Me nothing!

I was due to take my driving test two days later!

As my boyfriend pointed out - you are made out to be more of a criminal if you are caught speeding! Penalty points, increased insurance etc

B*******ds want shooting!

Very harsh, but....

Half a bottle of decent scotch in the glove box. Laced with rat poison (or something nastier).

Any little twerp who breaks in is almost sure to steal the liquer, and have a couple of stiff nips.

See you in the morgue.....

You'd almost leave you car door open and a playstation on the back seat to tempt them in

yeah, do that - and got to jail when the "poor sod" nearly dies.

Bit like fitting a spike under the drivers seat, the t-leaf was impaled, the owner got a big fine & possibly a jail sentance.
