Bertone Coupe

400bhp V8 Coupe to be shown in Geneva

Berton will be wheeling out another svelte concept at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show.

According to the company the sexy coupe achieves "uncompromising Italian sportiness as a means to achieve possession of an exclusive object, and supremely enjoyable driving.". We checked that out in our Press-Nonense to English dictionary and found that it means "A rare and beautiful car that is fun to drive".

Classic proportions are employed in the design. A long sloping bonnet hosts the powerplant, a tear-drop shaped cabin sits behind that with a short muscular rump to the rear.

Power is provided by a 400bhp BMW V8.

Bertone rounded off their announcement with a cryptic message about being kind to the environment. Referring to collaboration with a number of suppliers it tells us that "One of the most entertaining and provocative proposals, is an original onboard 'tender' which you can use to go into the centre of town and move around easily in absolute respect for the environment, after you have parked the sports car". Does that mean there's a push bike in the boot?

Looks a bit like the Invicta! Nothing really new which is a shame; will do well for the Invicta which is a good car.

My wife has just purchased a new steam iron that looks just like it, wheels excepted, iron has a much smoother ride no doubt.

Front end looks like a Banham BAT kit car.
