Nissan Evalia

Beefy looking people carrier could be what's needed in a sector full of namby pamby baby vans

Nissan will be showing the Evalia concept car in Geneva. It's yet another people carrier, although this one does appear to have some attitude.

Large, dark wheels and flared wheel arches are all design cues normally associated with sports cars. Vauxhall dipped a toe in the water with their Zafira Turbo and given the enthusiasm for agressive looking 4x4s, there's definitely a market for family transport with attitude.

That roofline is a bit Ford like though. Or in Micraspeak it's Byfocus...

Its only a 4 seater with a little estate boot, what makes the definition of a "people carrier"
Is it the EuroNCAP "pedestrian friendly" front end?

Are Nissan trying to out-avantgarde the new Renaults already? (if so, they're failing abysmally. The new Micra looks like a four door dodgem with ornamental fishponds for headlights.

No, I'm afraid the 200hp version will hit the local markets and the suitably insane 400bhp Nismo Evalia Autech-R will be Japanese Domestic Market only.

Seriously though, Nissan could do worse than this but I do wish they'd neaten up the back end a bit...
