3.07 seconds to go from 0-60 is 29 ft/s/s, or .93g. Surely someone's got a car that'll do better than that! jondokic, will the McLaren hit 60 in first gear? Are there any R500 owners willing to try this? I could probably build a $1000 special to win this; start with my old go-kart, put in a 500cc engine, and away we go (into whatever the scenery happens to be)!

Errrr. Santa Pod. Filled with things that do 0..60 a LOT swifter than a McClaren F1.

Not so great at the first corner though...

2.52 I though it was, and 100 in 5.4

It hit terminal velocity in 212ft IIRC

Watched some drag-racing on a French channel last night. Top Fuel Rail Dragster 0-100mph 0.8 seconds, 0-300 mph about 4.2 but obviously not road legal

It's designed to win a rally stage you cretin, not look 'wikkid' on your council estate. It also just happens to be faster accelerating than any other so called 'supercar' on sale toady.

Sorry, it just annoys me when some 'car enthusiasts' can't differentiate between a maxed nova and a proven rally car.

And another thing...

What is the reaction you get from most Pistonheads when you mention the 6R4 rally car? Most likely it is along the lines of "amazing", or the like. This is because most people recognise it for what it is and what ir does: win races. Obviously you could take the pissy attitude and say; "well it's not very pretty is it - just a metro with a body kit, innit".
