The company's bankruptcy filing comes after one of his business partners, Pastor (Pat) Velasco, filed a lawsuit against the TV star and one of his co-founders, Daniel Bednarski, on March 8 in Orange County Superior Court, claiming he's owed $2 million.

Several months later, on July 24, another complaint was filed by co-owner, Roger N. Behle Jr., alleging Anstead and Bednarski mismanaged the company's finances.

The July complaint alleges that back in January, Anstead and Bednarski — who the filing claims was Anstead's life coach prior to becoming Radford's chief financial officer — secured a new sale of $100,000. However, hours after the money was wired, Anstead and Bednarski "took $54,635.52 from this deposit and used it to pay a vendor for work unrelated to the new client’s vehicle," the complaint reads.

It continues, "Twenty-nine minutes after the first wire was sent, Bednarski took more of the new client’s funds and paid himself $20,000 via wire."

The suit further claims that they allegedly paid for personal expenses like auto insurance with company funds.

Seemingly no social media coverage of the brand by Jenson, Ant or Tanner for about a year or so. Twelve cars built.

I can't say I'm surprised at another of Ants companies going under...but this one will get some comments!

I feel for some talented people involved in the building of the cars that actually exist, some of you will know who I'm on about. Been left to fight for what crumbs been left out for them...

To be fair his life coach and the Chief financial officer Bednarski did "provide accountability, support, and a structured approach to achieving personal and professional life goal by providing growth self-improvement and self-love. Becoming the best version of myself is what I seek. I am that I am #warriorsway #leadership #success #men #menshealth..."

Having not read any further detail, there's nothing wrong with using money from a customer to pay other business expenses. That's how businesses work. I get money in, I use that money to allow the company to operate, I keep what's left over.

Agreed, but it would seem the other members of Radford such as Jenson Button or the guy investing the money would have wanted either a say in who gets paid, when and why. Hence the very public explanation of why they are filing Chapter 11.

Oh, I get that. It was just the July 24 complaint appeared to be that the directors used some company money to run the company. I'm not saying they did or didn't do anything untoward. But, on the face of it, that particular complaint looks a little spurious.

Thread deleted, it seems. So, is Anstead some kind of dodgy conman? Something about him has always given me a bad feeling.

Well he does have form for selling a dream car but failing to deliver it... His partnership with Kahn, then Evanta cars didn't exactly go well.... He owes LOTS of people money, many, many suppliers refusing to deal with him or Dowsett cars...

Just to update some aspects of this, there are multiple people suing Radford, not just the one investor who is taking a $2m bath. There are multiple customers who put down $100k to $1.3m for a Pikes peak edition, who are suing Radford and in particular Ant.
As in 2023 Ant Antsted stated "We have received deposits from multiple locations around the world and we are delivering those cars"
Its Aria group in Irvine CA who were licenced to build the cars, they make cars for Hollywood (Tron, Legacy,Transformers etc) and as far as we know only the 3 prop cars and a mule were built. No customer cars have been built. So Aria group are not involved in the case as they are not in the chain of missing deposits. As those are owned by Radford.
Radford don't have a factory, they are a design house and not a manufacturer. They had 13 weeks to get their affairs in order or return the deposits before filing chapter 11.

I suppose we won't be getting their cheaper 'second' car then, anyone know what it was meant to be based on?

This tweet seems a little odd, Ant walking around a deserted factory pretending to talk to people.

Does all seem to have turned into a mess. All the hallmarks of the usual investor claims once clients start looking for who to blame.

One would have thought that a company run by a model and a life coach would have been sufficient warning to hold back on ordering a car until they were appearing?

Ant Anstead. The nobody that 'lucked out' with Zellweger?

Yeah, no hindsight required.

Thanks for the link. I hadn’t realised that they had developed into a scam saga. Jenson has hopefully not been involved financially. Never a good thing for a celebrity sports star to get involved with a serial scammer so their background needs to be looked at before any agreement is made.

Sounds like a complete mess. Lawsuits, financial mismanagement, and now bankruptcy. it’s no wonder there hasn’t been any social media activity from Jenson, Ant, or Tanner. If the allegations are true, it’s a shame because Radford had potential. Only twelve cars built before everything collapsed? That’s rough.
