Sir Malcolm Campbell made history 100 years ago by hitting 150.76 mph in his Blue Bird car at Pendine Sands. It was the world’s first official 150 mph land speed record.

When, if the average person even had a car, it would likely be an Austin Seven that could possibly crack 50mph if you really went for it, 350 horsepower and 150mph must have been ludicrous.

Even 50 mph in an Austin Seven would be a bit scary. I wonder what distance it’d take to stop from even that speed?
