Just had this story pop up. Hardly a surprise given the old thread about them. They just seem to have got bigger in the interim period.

A garage I used earlier this year (franchised dealer) offered me a new set of deep carpet mats if I left them a glowing review - saved me a few quid on purchasing OEM mats and in fairness I didnt post anything I wouldnt have said without the incentive as the transaction, deal, vehicle and service was top notch

Lots of hospitality establishments offer similar too

My last experiences buying from BMW and Ford main dealers was that they required 5* feedback in the post-sale survey or there were consequences from management and so they were, at least outwardly, keen to ensure there was nothing wrong before you left. Should have thought to ask them to sweeten the deal biggrin

The AMonline news email I got a couple of days ago had the subject: "Trustpilot suspends BMW" - I bet that raised some hackles!

Interesting. I bought a car from them in April, and I was expecting lots and lots of hard sell for finance, insurance, coatings, etc. and yes, they tried it, but it was quickly stopped when they worked out I wasn't buying.

My biggest gripe is they have to have someone with to look at the car and just the time it takes them to do all the paperwork, etc.

Cash buyer, no options or add on's and it still took and hour to do the paperwork...

irked

I didn't even get a request for a Trustpilot review, leave alone a bribe.

What gets my goat is when they say FCA rules state they MUST go through all options with you. Not so if you state you are a cash buyer. But they still insist despite FCA issuing guidance to remind dealers this is not the case.

TP have tightened up over the past few years on stuff like this, and they'll have had plenty warnings which clearly were ignored.

I've read in various places about BigMW's diabolical service and could never understand why they only had five star reviews. Funnily enough, since this has all kicked off there has been a flood of one star reviews!

The OH contacted them a while ago about a specific car. Never heard back about it but since then she's been pestered by them about all sorts of other cars way above the price limit that she explicitly stated. She's actually bought a car elsewhere but is still getting harassed by BigMW!

I'm guessing it is an interpretation of treating customers fairly by treating them all the same.

Treating customers fairly IS treating them all the same, irrespective of whether it's deemed good/poor/indifferent

Good to hear. I had the most appalling service from them.

Never again.
