Nice Rog,

Your searing wit had me rofl as usual.

Seriously though, my motor hasn't turned over for 15 months and I
wanted to put some oil in the barrels and give it a soft turn before I let
the battery loose on all that corrosion.

Easily done.
Move the water bottle out of the way. Use a socket + extension bar for access plus another bar over your ratchet for leverage.
I found it even more helpful to have the bonnet open more for access too.

If you are really concerned, to put your mind at rest you could pull the plugs, put in a little oil, spin the engine on the starter, and then replace the plugs

Don't do what I did after a top end rebuild on a different car - squirt in some oil, then replace plugs, then hit the starter

With enough oil that could cause a hydrolock and bend rods

When it does start it will smoke a lot if you've put some oil in the cylinders

Thanks WB,

Sorry, I am such a Dullo that I thought the drive cover on the front also covered the Crank Pulley.
have now found that NOT to be the case thumbup

Thanks Paul,

I have pulled the plugs and was gonna throw some WD40 and a drop of Mobil down there and try and ease it back & forth before I let the battery rip it up.

New plugs ready for the 'jump' wink

Would you recommend anything different to put in the bores ?

Ta !
