Sticky throttle
Discussion
My Cerb has suffered from a sticking throttle before and then was fine for a while.
But today it started again.

I’m wondering if I should just replace the throttle return spring on bank 1, perhaps it has become a little weak?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I squirted some lubricant (PTFE bike lube) down the cabke opening beside the driver side throttle bodies.
Its a beaut now.
Recommended over more springs as the pedal i have is nice and light, which is a lovely feeling

I have silicone lubricant and WD40, not too familiar with PTFE bike lube, assuming it won't make too much difference either way?
Mine turned out to be frayed at the pedal side. Couldn't see it but I wasn't happy with the throttle response so Jody replaced mine when he did the 12k service. It felt like a totally different car after. The revs just didn't rise and fall as freely as they did now. And would often fall at an even slower rate from 1500rpm to idle.
I simply can’t imagine how anyone gets in to the footwell to replace the throttle cable - I could barely get a look at it (didn’t seem frayed), let alone try and get my hands in there, to replace it.
That’s one job I am really not looking forward to doing.
I took the throttle link rod off and removed the helper spring. Throttles on both banks had reasonable return action (torsion type spring on throttle rod) and weren’t binding at all.
The helper spring seemed tired though, so I picked up a replacement (similar, but not exact).
After driving the 911 all week, I couldn’t wait to get the TVR back out and was praying my issue was resolved.
Pleased to report that the issue was resolved, and I thoroughly enjoyed heel and toe on every downshift - the Cerb setup is just a delight and i love the gearshift.
Interestingly, after the clinical perfection of the 911, the Cerbera was utterly exhilarating - total animal of a car!
Remarkable, how 20-25 years on, these cars are still so amazing.
Thanks for all your input and help!
