Dear All,

The Forum "Cerb Best pic" is 13 years old.

We were all stitched up when Photobds tried to rip us off
BUT
the Thumbsnap"Upload an image (beta)" utility is a proven piece of kit

Sooooooo

It might be an idea, to use all this extra time that CoVid has given us, to update our ruined photos.
(Just a thort)

Hi Paul,

Re: lockdown.

I've been updating the photo of the vehicles in My Garage. I see PH still recommends tinypic but this doesn't exist anymore so I use Imgur to store and then post photos where a URL is required.

I've looked at Thumbsnap and some of my photos are already there, suprise-suprise.
Have you used Thumbsnap to post photos, can you just R-click on the image then copy image and paste elsewhere like PH as above para'?

Cheers
Lance

Can't tell if you're winding me up here, Lance.

If you're not then ....
I do it a very roundabout way
I edit a post that I've previously made on PH.
I go through the process of loading the required photo using thumbsnap
I then take the "https-----------.jpg" section of the loaded url

I then select the vehicle summary of the required vehicle.
Click on "edit the summary"

then copy the url description you've taken from the preceeding dummy post edit
Click the "Update" button on the bottom of the Vehicle Summary Page
Remove any amendment I made to the dummy post (just in case)
Cancel (I Double-back page out) of that dummy post. (just to be doubly sure)

I use Pbase, have done for years now. US$23 yearly for 3000 MB of photo storage, allows direct image linking etc

No I'm not a windup merchant Paul, well I hope not, I'm not clever or quick witted enough.

It's just that I can't see in Thumbsnap where to get the URL for the photo where as I can in Imgur with dificulty.

While waiting for the "all clear " I've documented how I edit PH because I forget unless using things on a regular basis. I use LibreOffice Writer instead of Word.

Can I try and email you how I do it so you can take a peep and see if there is a shorter method of editing the garage photos,

In the mean time I'll check out your method.

My garage vehicle photos appear like yours BTW.

Dave, thanks, I don't see any photos of your current fleet vehicles.

Cheers

Found it.
Thumbsnap URL

Click on links below required photo, which the site says has to be less than 48 mb, and the various code options appear. I used Direct link to copy and paste on PH.

Link this photo or other codes may also work but have not tried any of them.

Does seem easier than Imgur but still not easy to edit on PH.
