...isnt cold when driving..
But then we had a couple of days of freezing cold car in the South of France...

Hum, I wonder...
Confirmed today with the camera probe, hot intake flap is stuck.open.

So the airflow through the hotbox is always coming in. Hopefully its just a case of lubrication.

Seems to be ok now. Used a pipe connected to the camera probe, to direct wd40 at it. opens and closes nicely now.

That heater pipe is a pain to get at, so I couldn't get at it to take it off. I went in by taking off the center tunnel vent on the passenger side

So , fixed for a bit, then intermittant running. The compressor wasn't engaging the clutch, because it wasn't getting the 12v. Chased through the wiring and found it was a loose plug on the heater control box, because TVR hot glue gunned the two pcb's together on the sockets only

Over time that glue had lost contact and the top pcb moved, and so the clutch engage signal was only sometimes making... or not at all

So some PCB standoffs, to fix the board properly...

and it all works correctly

So I've used MikeSR very good aircon faultfinding guide from 2012. Reproduced it with the various diagrams included, so it's easily found if someone else has the issue

During my reverse engineering efforts of the various control boxes I’ve noticed copious uses of the hot glue.
Nice fix with some stand offs. Will look into that
