Gah

I've read a number of threads on here about Cerbera wheel bearings being problematic and different parts under the same part number etc. I'm replacing all 4 and, worried about issues, just bought 4 from a well known supplier that came as complete hub and bearing assemblies.

Have refurbished the uprights, reassembling the chassis and none of them fit. Not just a paint issue, 1-3mm difference between the ID of the holes in the uprights (front and rear) and the OD of the hub/bearing.

Comparing the new ones with original, yes the original ones are chamfered, the new ones are not. Is this the case with all new bearings/hubs? Can I buy new ones already chamfered or do i need to get them machined? I wonder if modifying the uprights is a better idea scratchchin

It depends on brand, from what I've seen. If you stick to Timken they fit, but a lot of the Chinese pattern ones don't.

Thanks, i'm not sure what brand these are but i'm returning them and it looks like the ones from Motaclan have the chamfered shoulders so hopefully get the right ones this time

I've never had a problem with wheel bearings, but when the car was stripped to the chassis, it was one of the items I replaced, just because.

Yeah why not? Dead easy to change too.

I ordered a set from Motaclan and they are perfect - great service from them, they even went and opened one in the warehouse and took a pic of the actual part for me.

Same part number as the bearings I ordered from AN Other vendor (I won't name and shame publicly) and in fairness to them, they've taken the square shouldered parts back for a full refund.
