How can someone buy a £50K car as a present without asking if they want one?

man some people just don't know how lucky they are. i saw that advert in the sunday times and spat my morning coffee clear across the room which my flatmate wasn't too impressed about, sitting opposite me as he was at the time. i guess this poor impoverished student will have to wait for that lottery win.
