Any of you home AJP rebuilders bothering about the weights of the pistons, conrods etc? The factory manual said to select 'pistons that are within 1 gram of each other'. My heaviest piston is 2.82g more than the lightest. I've tried to weigh the small ends using this lash-up and that gives a combined piston-small end weight spread of 3.7g. Curious, but also mindful that this combo has done 170k miles like this.....

I'm no expert but when Andy did mine, he said they were all within a gram of each other.

He seemed to think it mattered!

And of course, he had it all balanced afterwards.

It's nice now! driving Just been out for a quick blast to check hehe

Update: After weighing pistons, pins, small end (using the 'thing' in the photo in the first post) I took a bit of weight out of some of the small ends, swapped a couple of pins round and got everything pretty close. I then took a bit off some of the big ends to get the total weight of the conrods within about 0.5g.
