Although mine is a factory car, most of the 80s car were sold as kits. IMHO in build quality in these older Marcos’ is no comparison to any TVR especially a Cerb but then again it is much lighter approx 700kg v 1100kg if I recall correctly. It is also much lower than the Cerb, so gets so a good centre of gravity but with Triumph running gear and Cortina rear axle (drum brakes) remember them !! it can get quite exciting but the set up can be improved a lot. It is also very, very light on the rear end. I have also fitted the after market anti-bump steer kit, which is a big problem in the Marcos and very frightening. Like any fibreglass car, electrics seem to be a bit of a challenge and although they are very simple in the Marcos, they are not very well protected from water spray. With the rover V8 lump and all the possible upgrades they can really fly, great if you have confidence in the running gear beneath you! I love both Marcos and Cerb for different reasons. The Cerb you can use everyday, whereas the Marcos is harder work but if set up well could make a great track day car. I must admit most of this is from memory – I need to finish the Marcos restoration – trouble is trev is too much of a distraction.
