Ice detector doesn't...

Hasn't worked since I bought the car. Just stays stuck on red as soon as the ignition is switched on.

I like everything to work, so anyone know where the sensor is hidden? I'm guessing corroded terminals or a duff sensor?

Not sure where it is, but mine has'nt ever come on, even when its minus 5...!
Incidentally, nice car, not seen it round Notts, will keep my eyes peeled.
I see a few Tuscans around, never see Cerbs.

I had to fix the one on my old Chimaera before it went up for sale - it's just a little thermistor stuck out under the nose somewhere. Glowing red all the time means one of two things - the wire is shorting out somewhere, or the thermistor has packed up.

Most likely the latter, and they're ever so cheap to replace.

blimey ... something on mine that seems to work ... touch wood ... glows nice yellow going red when real cold ... tis pretty bl**din obvious though if you have to scrape the window!!

yellow = give it some large but remember to bring along fresh underwear!

Mine does the green orange red thing too.
Is any one finding it difficult to get any power down at the moment, mine wheel spun in 3rd at abut 30 last night, only pressed the pedal down a tiny bit too, wasn't even trying. I guess you learn some more driver skills, dealing with a snaking rear end though, for whenever it happens when your actually are moving!

Glad tidings!! Mine did not work either but my son plugged in a Porsche detector then it was fine. The detector is a little black plastic object behind the number plate and in front of the rad. If your detector is damaged or not making good electrical contact at its connection, this may help. If the problem lies elsewhere this will not help of course.

Yep, 4th gear 45mph and quarter gas out of large round about, thought keeping the revs low would help but still spun the wheels Feel alive when it happens but for how much longer??????
