Fed up with Brakes Squeeling any advise

I'm quite new to Cerbera ownership, got a 4.2 running as factory spec for 97model. The brakes squeal like (well you know) when anything but cold, I appreciate that this is not unusual with cars of this pedigree but it's starting to give rise to loss of cool.
Any advise on remedy or replacement ideas would be gratefully recieved.

Don't know about the squealing, but i fixed your pic!
Don't know about the Cerbera brakes specifically, but often a dab of grease between the back of the pad and the caliper will damp this out, you can also get little sachets of gooey adhesive specifically for this (don't use at the same time as the grease obviously!). In my experience brakes are more prone to squealing when the pads are more worn so this might be a hint to check for brake wear.
Squealing - yeah all cerbs do this with the normal discs and pads. Its because they have to stop a car at very high speeds they are rock hard. You can get softer pads which reduce the noise, but aren't as effective, or I've heard that ceramics are virtually silent also;not too sure on this though as don't know any body with ceramics - do know that they are a tad pricey though. Solution - rev the engine more often and prolong slow acceleration to increase popping and banging, you won't hear any squealing over the noise of the engine and exhaust - lovely!!! Regards MB
with regard to squeeling, i fixed mine for good using flexible seam sealer, the stuff bodyshops attach sills, wings, spoilers on with.
clean the pads and piston faces with thinners, then apply a liberal amount to the surface of the pad, just like you would do with copperslip, then re,apply. pump the pedal out again, and leave for 24 hours. that will be the end of it forever.. no other probs have occured with mine as the sealer is flexible..please don't try to use frame sealer, i'e, silicone as this is just no use for this job.

I might have to try that myself.
Have a look at a post from me a while back, found all this out by trial and error!

The pads have a very thin shim fitted to the outside face. I think it’s made of some sort of composite material. This is then bonded to the back of the pad. I guess it is designed to absorb some of the vibration of the pad on the disc.
Ultimate 'Avoid Squeal' Set up
New disc's
New Mintex 1144 rear pads
45 degree Chamfer in the leading edge of the pad
Any squeal shim bonded to the back of the pad
Copper grease on the other side of the anti squeal shim
Pad held in place with the two standard split pins
Over these pins the return springs are fitted.
The return springs compress as the brake is applied then, when released the springs push the pad away from the disc stopping it catching on the disc as it rotates. This is supposed to stop the Clatter.
I understand that these springs were only fitted to early Cerbs. Indeed most of them have, most likely, corroded away or been lost on the garage floor.

it is worth a try, i had terrible squeeky brakes and it gone now.
i agree is does stop chatter, that is if the spring clip is failing to do it's job.
the original pads have a heavy duty fibre lining on the backs, mine had worn through to the base metal, so when i changed mine for mintex these had no coating at all, this was bad, children used to point and dogs howled as i press the brake.
the sealer put the cushion back between the piston and the back of the pad..
the main cause of squeeling is the piston surface in contact with bare metal of the pads. it's like running your finger round the edge of a glass woooooooooooooooooooo!, (must stop doing it now) woooooooooooooooooooooo could'nt resist one more, wooooooooooooooooooooooo it's great when you get it just right.... wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! damm just gone and spilt me whiskey.....

I had the problem for ages and tried everything. Changed all disks and pads etc. But what finally worked was:

That cured mine...but only lasted 1000 miles or so. Its now back to square one. Tried redoing the chamfer a few times since, but no luck. I think its a case of try everything. What works on one car may not on another.
