Considering picking up another cerb...
Discussion
Chaps, as you know the rides in bits and is undergoing the transformation... I was wandering, would it be a wise decision to pick up another cerbie? Say a red-rose spec a few months old? Or shall I invest in the new bentley coupe for the daily runner?... minds in two, but other half is pushing me towards getting the new bentley...
any views? suggestions?

Wow Ash, what a dilemma ![]()
What about a Ferrari 456gt if you want a more GT style supercar?
or a 550 etc.
I don't think you could get two more different cars than the Bentley and Cerbera.
Duncan
Strictly no scratch magnets... I would love a fezza or lambo... but I have enough nightmares worrying about my affordable super... just think how I'd feel leaving a stallion parked up somewhere for more than 15 minutes...
Bently's got the class and earth shattering 550bhp@6k rpm... and the other half loves it, she thinks it looks like a top of the range rover 75.....
I have enough problems jumping from the 3000gt into the cerb, both completely different beasts... so I thought I'd be better off having a 'standard' cerb to keep me happy for regular driving... but shes insisting on the bentgt (mainly cos she wants to drive it too, and fears getting behind the wheel of any tiv - literally trembles when I hand the fob over)
Got two of them in the company car park. Ugly as sin, they are. And common.
They will, no doubt, depreciate like a b
ard, also. £122k or so new. Can already pick one up second hand for £108k. And that's from a dealer, so I'm guessing your trade-in price will be £100k or less. Not good.
If you're only keeping a car for a year or so, would suggest something second hand that's already taken the depreciation hit, or a car that won't depreciate half as much. An SL, perhaps. Or if she thinks it looks like a '75, how about the new V8 MG-ZT?

Ash, I know 3 GT owners. First guy has had more than his fair share of trouble with it, but loves it. Another who owns a very large local car delearship, who owns many fine cars incl an F50, hates it so much that its now up for sale in one of his showrooms after only a month or so. And another, good mate of mine (who's promised me a loan of it
)who's also got a Diablo & a 360, and previously has had a Murcielago and a GT2, someone you would assume should know what he's talking about, says its the best car he's ever owned.

Good news....
I've put the deposit down for a Zonda Roadster... and have specifically asked for the Chamaeleon colour to match my cerb, and white cream/purple interior... (theres only a handful of roadsters sold worldwide, where as theres about 30 S's out there in the wild!)
Missis is gone APE SHIT!!!, and I've gone 200k over my budget, but have a 3 year plan to pay it off with a decent interest rate...
(I still cant f'in believe I did this
it all happened today... signed the dotted line and did the wire transfer and that was it. I feel stupid... I got till 2nd week of Jan to cancel, otherwise its a trip down to the land of bolognese and speak directly with the techies, I've got some interesting ideas, like a very special one-off engine upgrade... if everything goes as planned, I'll have the Zonda to my spec and the 1000hp cerb ready by march for a year of awesome fun)
Edited to say:
I'll be one of the few to have the roadster - they're only making 40 of them!!!!

That's what I like to see - set a budget and completely ignore it and buy with your heart.. what every petrolhead should aspire to..

chuffed for you.. somehow I don't think you'll need reminding to post some piccies of the beasts when they've finally arrived
And not forgetting to bring it over for me to give it a test run

Ash, my good man, I'm utterly speechless. Truly. And that doesn't happen often.
...
Having sat here looking at my keyboard for a good couple of minutes, I can only come up with a couple of things:
1. Congratulations!
2. HOW THE HELL IS THE WIFE GONNA DRIVE THAT, EITHER???
3. How do I get one?
