Discussion
Seeing as I have a foot in both camps it seems only fair.. follow the link and you will see the poll on the right, obviously only for those who own Cerbs who are TVR car club members..

... And one you click on the link, you get this error:
I guess that'll be too many SQL connections being left kicking about on the server, then...

Not sure what that'll prove.
9% Cerberas at the moment.
Was on tvr car club site earlier, and noticed the scaletrix stuff... and was thinking how about someone do a PC mod based on a tiv bodyshell similar to what this guy has done? Could be a good business idea... different TVR model based pc's with different processor/speeds etc... www.pcunleash.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=ModSolution&no=80
and put the posters up at all the dealers, might entice new owners into buying one for his kid or himself....

Can easily put the hardware together for that based on Mini-ITX kit should anybody want to take a stab at it (will even make sure it gets ferrites in all the right places
). Would just need someone to get a body shell mould sorted.

I suppose doing a bodyshell like the Sagaris could be tricky though, with all those 'gills' every where... i have a few contacts over in taiwan/china, we could start production quite easily, but would need the go-ahead from tvr to do it... imagine walking into PC World and seeing a Tuscan or Cerbera PC, with the TVR logo on the flat-screen, and on the keyboard and mouse too... I can quite easily get the oem suppliers to do this....
(could even provide upgrade cases, so you can order different colour bodyshells... hmmmmmmmm)
I agree, you might then wanna put it on display.
But also consider that a lot of people want desk space for work or have their monitor on their PC.
Also people that dont have an office at home generally have on of those smaller workstations where there isn't room for displaying a PC.
But it would be a good idea for all the people that have the space, but is there enough of them to make it worth while?

Just spoke to a manufacturer, and the upshot is, depending on how much TVR would charge to use their name, manufacturing cost could go between 200-300 quids, built in china, and after taxes etc, costs are around 200-300, and then trade value could be around 900, and end sale price could be around 1200. Which would bring in a nice profit of 700 per pc sold. Sell around say 200 limited editions, you're looking at £140,000 - costs at 40000, so profit would be around 100k gross. Now if we take the model outside of the UK, say far-east, Japan and even into America... and increase production after the initial 200 LE sales, and have the proof for greater backing by other brands, we could be looking at BIG money with a year of running.... and then maybe pull other niche marquees in... PC customization is a big thing these days, more and more people will buy a nicer looking PC before thinking about what the sound output quality is like etc...
