My Cerb is on Santa's naughty list....

I think it's because she didn't get a present, but the Cerb was very naughty this morning.
Last time I was out in it was Thursday, washed on Friday and jumped in it to go to the relatives for Christmas lunch.
It was freezing cold so decided to start it up and let it warm up a little. Jumped in and battery turned the engine for a short while then died.
I was determined not to use the Jeep, so out came the booster battery, removed the top deflector and wangled on the cables - how hard is it to get the negative to stay on without jumping off.
Engine started first time off the button, so wound down the window, closed the door (keys in pocket, I've been caught out before) and started to put everything back together.
All the family jumped in the car, boot loaded with presents, wound the window up and set off to the wife's parents. When we got there, the little bugger wouldn't let me out. Window wouldn't wind down and the button wouldn't work. The missus was furious, she wanted to take the Jeep when the battery died, but I convinced her otherwise.
Ater a bit of faffing around with the central locking, decided to reset the window/door control box which did the trick.
I promised to buy her a present in the new year and she worked perfectly for the rest of my journey's.
So make sure you don't forget any of the women in the family when buying presents and you should be ok. Cerb's going to get some nice new overmats in the new year, should keep her happy.

Are you saying you removed the bit that goes around the top of the engine bay, and is held on with allen bolts? So you could get to the negative terminal of the battery.
If so, next time you may find it easier to connect the negative to an earthed part of the engine.

Negative and positive are covered on mine. Good thing is, it's only two bolts. Will remember that about using the engine next time.
Never mind buying mats, I think I'd better buy a new battery.
