Water re-filling

I'm going to have to drain my water system in order to fix some minor leaks at the bottom of the water system.

So was wondering if there was a perticular way of re-filling the system without getting any airlocks?

The system is relatively self bleeding.

Open the little 'bolt' on your radiator and fill up from expansion tank.

Close bolt and run the car to operating temp, till the fans come on.

Let it cool down completely.

Open bolt, fill up and repeat the process a few times till happy.

Some people open up the taps on the water rails that run under the airbox. I didn't really notice any difference doing this.

Sorry for the lack of technical terms but too much festive cheer prevents me from remembering any.

Thanks alot for that Andy.

All it is is the hoses that join the 'bent F pipe' at the bottom, near the rad, have started venting off some steam. I think the 'F' pipe was powder coated in the past and now the coating is coming off causing the joins to leak.
Something worth checking if anyone has mysterious water losses.

If this is the two pipes under the panel, with one housing the temperature sender for the ECU. They do corrode quite badly. I changed mine but it's not a quick job as it's a pain in the jacksy getting all the pipework out of there, all the hose clips rust onto everything and may need to be hacksawed off.
